Picking Apples Framed Canvas Replica Painting: Medium

By artist William Stephen Coleman (1829-1904), in a Private Collection
Sale price: $379.00
On her toes, this lovely Victorian girl is picking golden apples and filling her basket with the ripe fruit. In this oil painting Coleman features detailed elements with a backdrop of a bright blue sea, the rich red velvet of her skirt is echoed in the red poppies and the gnarled wood of the old tree bearing the ripe fruits of life. As a keen naturalist, Coleman published many books on flora and fauna, woodlands and butterflies, he also collaborated with other artists to produce numerous book collections of illustrations, in pastels, pen and ink, wood block prints, and watercolors. Although classically influenced, Coleman, painted many portraits in oils and realistically detailed paintings of cottage gardens, and rural country life. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand exclusively for Design Toscano. With bas-relief organic styling, the multi-tiered, replica European style 3.25" wide frame is cast in quality designer resin and highlighted with an aged gold-toned finish. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.
